While the dubious title of the best selling 7-seater MPV may fall to another Japanese brand, there is little doubt that in terms of size, the Nissan Elgrand is the crowned king of MPV. Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) has introduced the fully imported, New Nissan ELGRAND, a 7-seater premium MPV yesterday and armed with an imposing appearance and new features that imparts a strong luxury feeling, it aims to carve a kingdom for itself in the Malaysian private people movers market.

.

Introducing the new MPV, Mr. Tan Keng Meng, Director of Product Planning and Marketing said: “We at ETCM are delighted to provide Malaysian motorists yet another MPV that epitomise the meaning of luxury.  On a day-to-day basis of leisure and business, the new Nissan ELGRAND provides exquisiteness, recognition and desirable features beyond the basic necessities.”

Nothing in the market is as intimidating as the chrome plating front grille of the New Nissan Elgrand, coupled with the chrome coated 18-inch new multi-spoke design alloy wheels and new signature LED projector headlamps with Active Adaptive Front-Lighting System. If it’s road presence you want, the Elgrand has it by the truck loads judging by the exterior.

Interior wise,  Nissan has thrown in anything that uses the noun “luxury”; starting from the Multi-Information Display (MID), Auto Cruise Control and a grandeur black interior with a combination of deep wood grain accents. The black leather appointed seats comes with a diamond-shaped quilted pattern and brown double stitches. A Fine Vision Meter with 5-inch Drive Assist Display is located between the speedometer and tachometer. Nissan also claims the Elgrand has the best-in-class walkthrough cabin, featuring superior captain seats with Ottoman and adjustable shoulder support and we have to agree.. The 7-seater luxury also features an electrically-powered driver seat which can be adjusted 8-ways and for added luggage space, the 3rd row sliding seat function is able to move forward by up to 240mm even when occupied, leaving an ample amount for cargo.

.

The New Nissan ELGRAND, equipped with the 3.5-litre engine and automatic transmission, comes with a choice of four colours – All-New Imperial Umber, Brilliant White Pearl, Brilliant Silver and Phantom Black.

.

It is available with an on-the-road price of RM 388,000, without insurance with a warranty of 3 years or 100,000kms (whichever comes first). Bookings are now accepted at Nissan Showrooms nationwide.
